Pyramid Lake, Jasper
You don't need to see the whole Mountain to get a feel for what it's like. The great Canadian artists taught me this.
From this tiny glimpse of late afternoon pleasure boats on Pyramid Lake you already know the mountain soars above you, and the water is deep and mysterious.
This is a painting of that moment by the lake when we concentrated on getting our feet wet, skimming pebbles, jumping off the logs and thinking about taking a peddalo out.
After that it was tea time, and we had the thrill of meeting a grizzly bear on the drive back into town!

Earlier in the afternoon a localised shower over pyramid island gave me the chance to create this 2 page sketch.
