Helmleck Falls, Wells Grey Park

Wells Grey Park is the size of Wales with one road running through it. Helmleck Falls is about an hour into the park and prides itself on being the tallest waterfall in Canada.
I was able to take advantage of the afternoon light which cast strong shadows into the bowl of the falls.
But the only way of showing the scale of these enormous falls is the huge pine trees down the the bottom. Yes - those trees are full grown giants!

Nearby are the Dawson falls. I sketched this quickly while the family threw stones! It was on the drive back that we came round the corner and met a full size black bear waiting to cross the road!
