Colin was born on Bridge Ave, off Whyteladies, in a 3 bedroomed house holding 6 brothers and 6 sisters! He went to Cookham Dean primary and Maidenhead Grammar, and began working as a landscape gardener which lead into building work, renovations and extentions.

One of his Cookham highlights was singing in the choir at Stanley Spencer's funeral. "It was a day off school and we were paid 7s 6d! Stanley had cherry trees in his garden and we were allowed to collect the cherries. I remember one particular painting of his - sheep grazing on cockmarsh - in the hall."

Colin has played cricket and football for Cookham Dean and coaches the junior football sides. He met his wife Angie in the Social club next to the station, and they have 3 boys, the middle one, Joe, is in the new Harry Potter film out this autumn.

After work, Colin is happiest tending his cabbages and beetroot. "we need a bit of common sense about development in Cookham, it needs to be tasteful. I miss the old orchards of cherry and plums in Cookham Dean."
