There aren't many people who spend all their lives in the same house; but Ricky is one of them.
He's our original Jubilee child born in October 1952 in the house he still lives in on Briar Glen. It's an old cricket pavilion converted to a house and bought by his father in 1942 for £200.
His mother was an actress and it's from her Ricky got his love of music. At the age of 6 he walked down to Cookham church to join the choir (it happened to be pay day and he got 3d for turning up)!
But he needed to be walked home by the bigger boys because he was scared of the puddles! Ricky's still in the choir and loves the stage - 25 village pantos are proof of that.
After Cookham Dean Primary and Furze Platt secondary, Ricky spent 20 years working at Nat West in Maidenhead, and now he's enjoying Customs & Excise - that's VAT to you and me!
Away from work he collects old 78s and you'll often find him humming strange old tunes as he walks through the village.
