Gladstone from Auckland Hill (South East)
![]()
Gladstone is a lovely town, with this pointed, Auckland Hill overlooking it. It's a real town, and by that I mean it lives on heavy industry as well as tourism. The Gladstone museum was fascinating and we learned how it was named after Prime Minister Gladstone and for a short time was the capital of Queensland. Sitting on top of the hill I painted both views. Looking to the right it's the heavy oil industry that brings in the serious money.
