Life Guard, Trinity Beach
Before they built the beach on the Cairns seafront, you had to head out to the Northern Beaches to get into the water. Trinity Beach is my favourite beach and I built pur pole house that overlooks the coast. Under the dramatic Earl Hill the lifeguard hangs around his bright yellow hut keeping an eye on the holiday makers enjoying the beautiful waters of the coral sea. This was where they practised during World War 2 for the Pacific landings... My painting is done with acrylic on hardboard. In the backgorund is Yorkeys Knob and in the distance the mountains that frame Trinity inlet. The dark rocks at the base of Earl Hill are a perfect place to watch the stuinning skies of Far North Queensland.
