Copper Beeches on Cookham Moor
May is my favourite Month and the Copper Beeches come out in specatular fashion in the first week, immediately after the dandelions and just before the huge spread of Queen Anne's lace - cow parsley.
Cycling over the Moor one Sunday morning I saw this father and daughter playing in the tall flowers and it was such a pretty picture I immediately set about painting it.
I like the way the blue through the trees is always darker and the light touch with the brush seemed to bring it alive in that carefree May morning fashion!
