Garden of the Gods
South of Denver you'll find the Garden of the Gods below Pike's Peak.
It's a weird collection of outrageous rock formations through which there are great trails to explore. On our visit in the deep snow of Christmas 1998 I painted this quickly before my feet froze! using a limited palette of colours dominated by Venetian red, cerreleun blue and white. I liked the way the huge outcrops on the left were too big to fit onto the canvas.
