Red Rocks

This was one of the most memorable painting days ever. The temperature was minus 27 degrees, and it hurt to breathe. Yet still my dad and I went out to enjoy the blinding crisp cold views. At Red Rocks amphitheatre we tried painting watercolours. The water and the paints froze. The brush dragged icycles instead of paint. So we moved onto acrylics on the paper instead and pretty much squirted the paint straight onto the paper without using water - er ice!

Acrylic and watercolour 1998. Timmy and Michael Mallett
