Television: Rolf on Art - Mona Lisa

What does Timmy's weird painting of a neck and chin have in common with 120 others? Answer? Rolf on Art the Big event - recreating the world's most famous portrait - Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa!

At the Edinburgh Festival Rolf Harris and his mates braved the wind and the rain to produce a massive Mona Lisa.

Timmy took part with Rolf Harris, Jane Seymour, Mark Speight, Kirsten O Brien, Lynn Faulds Wood, and Lorraine Kelly.

The weather was the first problem to contend with. Stormy gusts damaged the huge rig into which the panels were to go....

Plan 2 - After the wind bust the vertical rigging, it had to be reassembled on the floor!!

Then the wind tore through the tents and half the painters had to adjourn to the basement of the nearby National gallery.

Producer Sally Dixon is trying to stop her show blowing away down Princes Street!

No luck! The market stalls become history!

Lynn Faulds Wood and Jane Seymour shelter alongside a windblown Mark Speight! Will this show ever work?!

When the artists finally begin someone goes all green...

Is Timmy painting how he feels or does he see something different to rest of them?!

Lynn hasn't painted since she was a child but she's confident!

now that's a hat, Jane!

All together now..

will all these different colours work?

The green base helps the complimentary colours to zing!

Are you sure you know what you're doing Lorraine?

It's great when we start to see if they match up!

Jon Culshaw finds the perfect place to add a pimple!

The rain doesn't stop the crowd having fun!

Leornado used a technique called SMARTO to blend his colours.
Timmy used a technique called TOMATO to blend his!

pretty as a picture...

The foot and mouth artists were brilliant...

This is the panel that joins the Mona Lisa's neck..

...and this is the top of her dress.

The artists don't have much room to work....

Mona Lisa's wonderfully enigmatic smile - by Rolf Harris.

The right eye looks mysterious...

Gavin - you pick up the paintings not the painters!

Will her face really work?

Smart's two love birds!

a few finishing touches...

under Rolf's watchful eye...

Things are getting clearer...

and the rest of the face is coming on.

but are the Edinburgh audience convinced?

the red spex match the picture..

Wow! that's starting to look right...

might lead a little more...?

Isn't that panel mine?

Nice gift from Aberdeen!

Mona Lisa's mysterious eyes...

Gavin thinks about putting his foot through this one!
